Last week I decided to add a new category for movie lines quoted too  much.  Over quoted movie lines are just like a good song that you hear over and over and over until you can't stand it anymore. Still a good song, but no longer enjoyable.  The quotes that make this list, will be quotes that have had this affect on me through the years.  Please feel free to disagree... I encourage all comments

The first entry is from the 1992 movie A League Of Their Own.  Excellent movie about the The All-American Girls Baseball League.  The classic line was part of a fantastic scene with Tom Hanks.  Excellent line and scene within the movie, but this has become one of the most annoyingly quoted lines of any movie released during the last 25 years.

1986!!!  The mid 1980's saw some of my favorite movies of all time released. Movies that I've continued watching over and over again over the past 27 years.  Here's some classic 80's movies that were to stream on Netflix and Youtube the week of March 25, 2013.

It was 1992 this week!

1992 marked a new era. After 12 years of Ron Reagan and George Bush in the White House, the Baby Boomers finally had one of their own in Bill Clinton. Television, radio and film were going through a transition. Gen X was growing up and John Hughes stopped supplying us with his teen angst stories.

Watched 6 titles this week all on Netflix......now on to the movies..........

Welcome to 1988! Of course, my favorite movie from 1988 Die Hard, is now not available for streaming.  That's okay, I filled my week with some comedy, a camp slasher movie, a couple of very good documentaries and a made for TV movie I had been searching for since I last saw it in the 1980's.  Now on to 1988!

I have never sat and watched this movie from start to finish. I'm very happy that I did this time. I love this movie - Classic fun terror!

The 'Tremors' of course are from giant man eating creatures living under the desert floor.

Netflix first original series became available for streaming in February.

House of Cards is a political drama about the secrets of Washington.  It stars Kevin Spacey, Robin Wright, and Kate Mara.
Kevin Spacey plays Francis Underwood, the Majority Whip.  After being passed over for Secretary of State by the newly elected President, the representative makes it his mission to bring down the White House.

I'm 5 episodes into the first season and I absolutely love it!  Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright are brilliant!

It's the first week of movies released before I was born.  I was sad to see Blazing Saddles, which was available to stream on Netflix for most of 2012, was no longer available.  Other notable movies from 1974 include; The Godfather Part II, Young Frankenstein and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

I had a busy week and didn't watch as much as I wanted. Here's what I watched through online streaming services from 1974 this week.

Last week I streamed 2011. I gave my girlfriend the choice this week of 1971, 1981, 1991 or 2001.  She selected 2001.  I immediately dumped in a Cohen Brothers movie and a David Lynch movie - each I have never seen before.  And as the week ended, I still had not watched them.  As I discovered, there are a lot of movies from 2001 available to stream and I just didn't find time to watch all I wanted.  Some of you will probably ask, "why the hell did you pass up on David Lynch and/or Ethan Cohen to watch (fill in the blank).  Well, most of my television/movie viewing is more of a background  thing. While I'm working, I throw a movie on.  Some movies, especially those I've never watched, I want to watch when I can have undivided attention to the film. David Lynch and the Cohen brothers films would fall into this category.  Unfortunately, this is not a daily occurrence.  The good news is I'll have more great movies to watch when 2001 rolls around again.

Ok, enough about directors  and films I didn't watch this week and on to the goofy shit I did watch........each one of these titles were available on Netflix streaming.

I was building up a list of  movies from 2011 that I have been adding to my Netflix steaming queue.  So, I decided to make this my 2011 week.  Films from Bobcat Goldwait, Kevin Smith, Diablo Cody and Richard Linklater. Independent films dominated my week.

Star Wars, Annie Hall, Close Encounters, Smokey and The Bandit, Eraserhead, Saturday Night Fever,  The Spy Who Loved Me, 1977 was a fine year for some of my favorite classics.   But this week wasn't about watching a bunch of movies I have on DVD. It's about what I find to stream from online services available to me this week.
